July Cornucopia

This is a collection of links from the last month for all the things that I enjoyed online. It's Cornucopia Time! Be forewarned, these are really really all over the map this month because....summer!

An interesting joint SAQA and California Society of Printmakers exhibit to enter. Due date is 12/16/22.

Very interesting quilts  illustrating everything you find in a Korean market by Woomin Kim.

These limited series podcasts are must-listens: History Is Us by Eddie Glaude, Will Be Wild about what led to the events of 1/6, Slow Burn's latest "season" on Roe vs. Wade,

A brilliant art/protest project, a rolling mile-long procession of school buses: NRA Children's Museum.

Coming up in September is National Sew A Jelly Roll Day, this free pattern looks cool. ~#~#~#~#~#~#~#~#~#~#~#~

What a cute notebook cover, and a free pattern to boot. That multi-curve Omnigrid ruler is interesting, haven't seen that one.

How's your county in the US going to fare during the next 48 years as far as climate change effects go? That's in 2070.  Check it out here with interactive maps thanks to ProPublica. My county will be pretty okay on the whole, not feeling too safe where I am within the county because of the extreme fire danger or already excessive heat.

The Quilt National prospectus is here. Due date is 9/5/22.

Highly recommend reading Menopause Manifesto by Dr. Jen Gunter. Will change your mind about a whole lot of things you thought you understood.

~#~#~#~#~#~#~#~#~#~#~#~

Beautiful artworks made with single-use plastic.

~#~#~#~#~#~#~#~#~#~#~#~

If I could sew curves better, I would totally spring for this Glam Clam quilt kit in Tula Pink's new Paris Solids.

~#~#~#~#~#~#~#~#~#~#~#~

Paper animation structures, so clever! And the colors are just perfect.

~#~#~#~#~#~#~#~#~#~#~#~

Pat Sloan's video about seeing 13,000 donated quilts at once is pretty interesting. You get to see how the quilts are prepared for shipping.

Ahhh,  a Jicama Salad recipe that I have to try, sounds lovely.

~#~#~#~#~#~#~#~#~#~#~#~

Do you need another table runner pattern, here's a really pretty low-volume one that I might try out.

~#~#~#~#~#~#~#~#~#~#~#~

Artful Holidays class, videos of mixed media and fine artists projects to make. Class starts 8/1/22.

Try to take a class from Latifah Saafir. Her curve classes are great! Her tools are wonderful, too. Thanks for sharing all these great links.
