Reaching 100

 
So many little tiny strips sewn together.

The Penultimate 9".

And here's...the One Hundredth! 

9" at a time every day, I made it through a whole lot of scraps to get to the end of one whole roll of Scrap Tape plus a little bit more. You can see that it is still connected to the new roll. I haven't decided what to with that connection quite yet. To sever or not to sever? Keep it connected for maybe next year's 100 Days Project? Or cut it off and do something different?

It's a great feeling to be done, towards the end of these 100 days, I realized I was becoming a bit tired of the project. But I'm pleased to not have quit on it and pushed through to finish up. Before I decide what's next for this little bundle of goodness, I'm going to just let myself be happy with being done for a couple days.

Moving Through The 90's

 

A hidden gnome peeks in as I finally approach the end of this 100 Days project. There are only three days left to go, hard to believe I'm almost there.

Really like this combination of grey and blues. Very peaceful. (adding to maybe someday quilt palettes)

Already Up To 91

 

Well, I'm finally into the 90's with the 100 Day Project, today was day 91.

I'l admit it, I'm starting to get a bit tired of doing this now. But I'm too close to the end to quit on this project.

Talking myself into keeping on keeping on. Works (almost) every time.

That skinny strip of medium gray almost looks like a shadow on the right hand side here.

I really like the teeny piecing I did in the green section on this one.

 Shades of purple vs. shades of orange, hot hot hot.

I had to slip another face in before I reached the end.

I like this blue green peaceful kind of feeling on this last one here. That grey hand-dye really blends in with the wool pressing mat.

In the 80's Now

 

I'm really pleased to be all the way into the 80's now with my 100 Days project of 9" of Scrap Tape a day. Seen here with an almost all Tula Pink section.

These were scraps left over from fussy cutting for the hexies.

A lot of little orange pieces.

I did some more skinny strips piecing on the leafy blue fabric, inset color is light blue. I like how it looks like a stem or tree trunk within the pattern.

All caught up to the end of piecing now.

The unused part of the Scrap Tape is So Small and now I know why. Sixteen more to go.

Short Tape

 

The Scrap Tape roll for my One Hundred Days Project is getting so huuuuge now. It just barely fits in the designated box.

There's so little left on the roll of unused Scrap Tape comparatively. Only 16 days worth left in theory. So that was tantalizing enough to be so close to the end that I wanted to just unroll the rest and mark off my daily 9" segments.

I'm about an inch short of getting through 98 days. I thought hey, I did the math per the length on the package, what's going on here? That's about 19"short, which seems like more than a rounding error. I rechecked my math which is fine.

So I decided to unroll the whole thing and check my marking on all the days I've done so far. I was thinking that maybe I was off a lot on some of the days? For the most part it was dead on 9" or a little less. There were only 2 days that stood out as really different. This one was only 8" long.

And this one was 9.5". So net net that's .5" So, I don't know, guess my roll was short or something? Could it have shrunk up when I was ironing it day by day? I don't think so, there was one place where it got distorted because I left the steam on when I ironed a section, but otherwise didn't seem like it was gone wavy or anything. 

I dug through my interfacing but nothing is close to the same sort of material. So, I've gone ahead and ordered a new roll of the Scrap Tape. Not ideal to reward the manufacturer by purchasing again, I know I know. But,  I've really liked using this product, but now I know not to count on the measurement on the package. The new roll will get here in plenty of time, but if it doesn't, I'll just use some scrap fabric or something as a foundation to sew the last couple of days on.

Into the 70's

 

The Scrap Tape is Really Really Big now that I'm pushing through right into the seventies.

Speaking of the Seventies, these oranges (from the orange bullseye) keep bringing those vibes.

All over the map with this one, hand dyes, to clothing scraps, quilt back scraps and piecing cotton scraps.

They're all just scraps in the end. Which somehow all go together.

So there's a skull in there now. Not a surprise I suppose.

I like all the blues and blue-greens with the other colors in this one.

I made a dress out of that starry gold a long time ago, I really like that fabric design.

I like the look of the letters print with the other prints and solids.

Still love that hand-dyed grey, and I managed to do a bit of fussy cutting to get that purple flower center.

70 Out Of 100

 

Mostly regular scrap basket piecing on day 70, only the bright fuchsia triangle is from the retreat.

Mix of retreat scraps and regular scrap basket scraps. I do like the skinny strip of piecing between the pink and the light blue.

63 Out of 100 Days

 

Here are seven more days worth of the 100 Days Project. I'm away at the BAMQ retreat and have scheduled this post and sewn ahead of myself a couple days.  Hopefully I remembered to post all 7 pictures of the new 9" segments.

My plan is to bring this giant roll of sewn Scrap Tape along with me to keep up on the days while I'm there. I'm planning to use the scraps that I generate as I'm working on the projects that I bring to the retreat, so there will be a distinct look to those segments.

That white on white checkerboard fabric is so odd, but so cool. I thought it looked good around some fabrics that had bits of white.

A checkerboard of mis-cut cornerstones for the 4 I's quilt makes an appearance.

This combination on the left is a great palette for a quilt, the grey orange, purple, yellow on purple/pink, then a chartreuse, woohoo!

One last segment for the week. Can't believe I'm up to 63!
