Poetry Thursday

Image of Grimaldi as Scaramouche
For Poetry Thursday, here is a poem incorporating part of a song.

Rhapsody
by Julie Zaccone Stiller

Surefooted scampering
to considered completion
of the first few measures.
Bringing the audience
home with you.
Ply them with your very best,
Chiante and Gitanes.
They'll not notice
when you break into:

Scaramouche, Scaramouche
Will you do the Fandango?

Next time requires even
more fancy footwork
So they bring you home with them.
Sampling their Merlot and Mary Jane
They'll not let you exit
until you break into:

Scaramouche, Scaramouche
Will you do the Fandango?

Thanks to Queen for the lyrics from Bohemian Rhapsody. Thanks to my kids for playing this cd over and over again til I can't think of anything else *forced grimace*.

I love this! I totally didn't get a first that it was Queen, but once I did, this was really funny!
