Eleven More Stamps Done

I had even more Stamp Blocks cut out, so I got down to sewing them all. The chipmunk looks like he's about to jump out of the corner of the stamp.
Awww, the curled up green fox.
I love this one so very very much.I just want that owl to be my friend.
This is going to be put into the quilt on the horizontal.
Oh that picture should have been turned sideways too. I thought it was fun to have some horizontal stamps along with the vertical ones.
This design always makes me smile.
These got easier and easier to make as I went along.

Tah-dah! All eleven new stamp blocks together.

And here they are with the four previously made blocks. That's fifteen all together that are done, yay!

Giant Hexies

I won something from the Quilters Take A Moment event! A package arrived from Hoffman Fabrics, and inside were two  packs of 40 enormous pre-cut hexies

The fabrics are a nice range of colors and the printed patterns are contemporary.

When I read the list of winners and what we each had won, it just said Hoffman Fabrics hexies, so I had pictured something in the 2" range, to use in English paper piecing, etc. So I was surprised to get these giant sized ones, I think they're 8" across.
These are not that by a long shot, or well...several extra inches.
And they helpfully included a pattern as well, A Hop Skip & A Jump. Some of which involves cutting up the hexies into equilateral triangles (?) and adding sashing to each shape. These will be fun to play with and I'm surprised at how happy it made me to win something.

Locals Mostly

We tried really hard to "shop local' this year for our holiday presents. I wasn't terribly successful on that, but my DH really was, thanks to a little craft/fabric shop that's located in our own little town, The ColorWheel. He got me this adorable pink unicorn sparkly fq, a new measuring tape and a layer cake of black and white fabrics. How fun to have this cute little store right here in town, very handy.

A First Quilty Box

Received my first Quilty Box subscription in the mail last week and I'm very pleased. I really love the fabric choices, which are both precuts. These are fabrics I would likely have bought, so---so far so good on that front. The pattern included is very clever, and a raw-edged circle (hello bullseye I missed you so) using the included acrylic circle template. And a pack of Sew-tites, can always use more of those. Also a lovely shade of Aurifil thread that I didn't already have, which is always nice not to get a duplicate.
There's also a colorful quilt label which has a great phrase on it:
Made With Love NOT PERFECTION.

Some of these quilt subscription boxes have worked out well for me, which is why I keep trying them out. It's always a gamble, especially with the fabrics, but looking back on the past few months of boxes, it seemed like a good fit.
