Off to the English countryside, for a visit to a fine stately mansion. This is Bletchley Park which was actually a super secret code cracking operation during WWII.
There were some beautiful details, like this fancy ceiling in the ballroom.

This desk fan design is very cool and also a bit terrifying.
The D in D-day is made to look like the paper tapes they were working with.
These machines were all so fascinating,
I thought this curl of code tape had a lovely form.

These titles in the library cracked me up!
Most beautiful picture I’ve ever taken in a loo.
There were so many great presentations of all the memorabilia, both technical and human. This desk fan design is very cool and also a bit terrifying.

I would have bought a copy of this if it had been in the gift shop.

Such cool photos! I am amazed that so many of the great details survived.
It was really surprising how much of the ephemera and the majority of the buildings survived. But then, they didn't get bombed like London did, which was the point of being out there in the countryside.
