Just Barely A Box

 

My final subscription box for the Pink Door Fabrics Tula Pink club arrived. The box itself was still barely still taped together on all sides, yikes! I was a little worried for the contents inside.

But everything was safe and sound, and there's as usual, a whole lot of goodies. This is the newest Tula Pink release of Full Moon Forest II line of fabrics along with all kinds of coordinating stuff. I love the Emperor's Wheel pattern example done in these fabrics.

The coordinating Tula Pink solids are great. and the webbing has a beautiful tree print on it.

There are a lot of FQ's and it's always so hard to untie these beautiful rainbow bundles.

A Bob-Sled was the most clever new notion I've seen in a while. It's a bobbin holder that has a little front part (like a bobsled) that lifts up and you can put needles in there. So cute, and I love the Deco-Bob pre-wound coordinating threads included.

A Tula Pink neon pink bee key fob, Renaissance Ribbons sampler pack of the coordinating ribbons,  and a long 72" of ByAnnie zipper with contrasting hardware.

An interesting bag pattern, 1"hexagon papers and these clever plastic mini bolts for organizing fabric. They included an idea of making feature parts of the fabric you'd use for the bag out of hexies which I thought would be very cute. Especially with using that printed webbing and color coordinated zipper.

The Tula Pink solids are really nice color choices.

A better view of the print FQs, quite a wide variety of big and little prints. 

A lot of these will be really easy to use in block making.

And the more interesting detailed prints will be used elsewhere in bigger pieces.

I like the inclusion of the light greys and white prints too.

Yesterday's Mail

 

Yesterday was a Good Mail day™ because my subscription box from Pink Door Fabrics arrived. It is chock o' block as per usual with all kinds of fun stuff. But I have to say, I really really enjoy the boxes and have a hard time throwing them away. I've been using them for storing current projects, they're roomy enough and easy to move around. Better than buying even more P.O.T.S. (Plastic Organizer Thingies).

There's always a pattern included and this one is super intriguing to me, I've always liked this block but have never tried it (due to the curves and needing to make templates. Well, it includes the acrylic templates, and equipment for doing it EPP style. There also directions for piecing it by machine. We shall see. I quite like the examples on the pattern cover of the fussy cutting these great Tula Pink fabrics.

I'm excited about the Renaissance Ribbons that were included, they're so pretty and match the fabric so well. Another Sewline fabric glue pen is always useful, now I can have one in my to-go box and one in my workroom, some very pointy butterfly scissors, John James Milliners needles, a spool of DecoBob for hand sewing. Oh and a package of seeds, alyssum.

There was also a swatch deck with pictures of each of the prints in the Untamed fabric line. Not sure what those are really for, maybe I can use them in a collage?

Untamed is all about flowers,  there are no animals included in any of these. Except for the check and houndstooth fabrics, it's all gorgeous flower or plant related shapes like seeds..

I really enjoy the variation of patterns used in the backgrounds of the florals.

I'm really into the rainbow houndstooth fabrics. And the patterns on the seeds (or water droplets).

The neons are Very Neon.

A lot of these would play very well with other Tula Pink fabric lines, there are similar motifs that are similar and the colors would work together.

The Tula Pink solids are super pretty. The fabric quality is very good for a solid.

The neon checkerboards are super stinky with the heavy neon print. It's very stiff and plasticky as well. I hope that it washes out and softens somewhat.

Always fun to check out the selvedges.

I like the colors on the selvedge being represented in water droplet (or seed) shapes.

I used my laundry marker to write in the names of the solids, just in case I end up needing more of one color.

On Tabby Road

 

Another fun box arrived from Pink Door Fabrics chock full of the latest Tula Pink re-release or "Deja-vu" of a previous line. Several of my faves from Tabby Road are included, like the cat food cans print and as usual lots of other fun stuff for making a bag.

The FQ on the bottom is one of my top 5 favorite Tula Pink fabric designs. That giant stripe is going to be quite hard to use as just another fabric in a quilt. Several of these FQs have super strong patterns that are challenging to use. I don't feel it with the included pattern of kitties in cups, so I'll have to come up with something else for these. Maybe I'll combine them with the Best Besties? Cats and dogs and other animals all combined, why not?

I really like these coordinating solid fat quarters, such a nice cheery palette with good names: Freesia, Taffy, Key Lime and  Julep. The DecoBob Wonderfil coordinating thread is going to work really well with these fabrics. 

The bag pattern this time is a By Annie pattern called  Hot and Heavy, an iron carrier or a purse? Looking at it more closely, this would actually make a pretty good purse. There's webbing included in Disco Stripe, two By Annie zippers in an incredibly deep hot pink, and iridescent zipper pulls and D rings to complete the bag. 

A Box of Roar!

I was so surprised to get my Pink Door Fabrics subscription box in the mail yesterday. It's got Tula Pink's latest line of fabric designs, Roar!, and all kinds of accompanying goodies. A Sew Sweetness pattern for the Allium bag, along with the hardware to make it. As well as a nicely sized zip-up bag to put it all in until I get it sewn. When I heard the fabric line was called Roar!, I didn't read the description, instead I guessed that it would be lions, etc., but nope--it's dinosaurs. A good surprise, as I like dinosaurs too.

There's so much fun extra stuff, that sticker is cracking me up, and I love the really pretty coordinating ribbons.

How fun is this hardware? Dinosaur pulls!

A lot of the prints together, such a variety of types of prints in various scales. It's going to be fun to come up with a good pattern to use them all.

A picture of just the main Dino prints, there's all of your favorites, T.Rex, Triceratops,Pterodactyl with lots of cool plants surrounding them.

Again, a very nice accompanying selection of solids.

Not going to lie, I'd wear a skirt made with this print. Or it would have made amazing curtain's for my kid's room back in the days when they were Dino crazy. I guess it'd be a pretty great pillowcase fabric as well. All sorts of uses for this one. There's another color way of the same print included that's pinks and oranges.

Best Besties Beasties

 I received the Pink Door Fabrics, Tula Pink: Best Besties subscription box back in November, and posted about it, but then it got stowed away and I just re-found it. It was like opening up a new one in a way that was a really nice surprise and  also kind of funny. I haven't thought about what sort of quilt to make with all these great fabrics. 

I think Best Beasties would be a good name for it too. Maybe if I make a quilt. with just these fabrics, then I'll call it that.

I like these coordinating solids that came with it. The pattern that came in the box is kind of cute, but I think I'll come up with something else. Maybe also involving hearts, who knows?

So, I hadn't unfolded the fabrics up to look at them yet, and I was really wowed. All these animals! Great!

This aqua blue poodle really knocked my socks off!

I kind of want pajamas made out of this moon rabbit print on a cotton jersey.

Such a great rainbow of fun fabric prints, I'm really looking forward to working with it. I see some fussy cutting in my future....

Best Besties Box

My surprise Pink Door subscription box arrived with a whole bunch of colorful fun stuff based around Tula Pink's Besties fabric line. Fat quarters of solids and a package of beautiful ribbons too. It's a surprise because I forget that I'm subscribed to receive one, that's on me. Just like I forget the end of movies so I can watch them again, I guess I like being surprised.

These are really pretty together. It's going to be hard to break up the package and wash them.

The solids are really nice too.

Some of the other fun stuff included: a By Annie bag pattern and blue zipper, a sparkly key chain and shiny sticker, some cute best friend labels, a pieced heart quilt pattern and a make your swatches kit.

 

Pink Door Surprise

 
There was a total surprise in my post office box yesterday.

I had honestly completely forgotten about ordering the new Pink Door Fabrics subscription box. The boxes correspond with Tula Pink's three collections a year and are timed with their release.

The tape was not sealed, but not broken. Maybe because of the heat in transport? Nothing was missing so it was ok.

Happy Mail indeed!

Inside was a stack of the new Tula Pink fabric fat quarters Nightshade (Deja Vú) and a bundle of coordinating solid fat quarters.

And there was some matching Aurifil thread too, in 5 colors.

There was a By Annie pattern, Glo and Go which is a roll and bag combo. There was also a nice long black By Annie zipper, and a couple sliding buckles. Very cute zipper pulls, an enamel magnetic pin and a very shiny sticker that says "I Sew At Night" (hah!) Some random stuff, but very useful and/or cool overall. I'd say for the price it's a good value.

I really love the selvedges with the colors used marked by skull and crossbones.

My studio assistant thoroughly enjoyed the whole unboxing process.

She settled in as soon as the box was empty.
