For the first Wandering Wednesday of 2022, we were out and about for our traditional New Year's Day hike. Well, due to scheduling mishaps, it was actually our Day After New Year’s Day hike. Hey, we got out and about and hiked for almost 4 miles so I'm still counting it.
We wanted a flat hike and this was pretty much the flattest around. The trail was along the top of the earthen barriers between salt ponds, the bay or the Guadalupe River.
The seagulls weren’t too thrilled that we were there.
The salt ponds were attracting various waterfowl, we saw egrets in the marshes and one of the smaller sea birds hunting in the bay.
It wasn’t terribly windy so the reflections were almost as wonderful as the company.
