Productive Sew Day

I was so happy to get the chance to go to another Sew Day for BAMQ this weekend. I only brought two things with me to work on and one of them stayed in the car. I concentrated all the hours on working on cutting out and sewing more half rectangle triangles for the Color Collective quilt I'm working on. It's a lot of triangles!

Before Sew Day I decided to add a lighter color into the mix, as Tara Faughnan advised, so I chose a light grey that was in my stash. I took this picture to remind myself that I added an additional color choice. I cut out four WOF strips from this one, I think it will greatly lighten up this color palette when the whole quilt top is arranged. Memo to me, I didn't pre-starch this one fabric.

From all the other colors I cut two more WoF strips, which makes three total. There's enough fabric left to cut one more strip if needed, but I want to see just how big this quilt will turn out to be made with what I've already cut. This is a picture of my workspace at Sew Day as I mixed up the triangles to have more randomness when choosing two to sew together. And of course, almonds to keep my energy up.
After cutting strips, sub-cutting the strips, and then diagonal cutting the rectangles I finally got to sew. There's still a pretty big stack left of the triangles to sew together today and then I will trim them all down to size so I can play around with them up on the design wall.
