This one barely survives the summer, I really have to remember to water it even though it's in partial shade. The blooms in the spring always make me happy to see.

I love the wrinkly petals on this rock rose, looks like it just rolled out of bed all beautiful and bright.

A camellia about to unfurl, it already smells divine.

Another rock rose, a bit smaller petals so not as wrinkly, but the bees don't mind.

This lavender with the purple rabbit ears is such a great survivor.

The surprise sport iris, normally the ones in the front yard are the common deep purple, but not this one, it decided to be special which I'm happy to see. Our plumber was impressed by it the other day and took a picture of it.

The Columbine that didn't quite bloom last year is going great this spring. And I love the color combination.

The Queen's Tears is such a striking and strange plant, it's actually tropical but it does fine here. It's a plant my grandmother passed to my mom who passed it to me.

This helisychrum (the sunflower family) is doing so well, I love the unusual flower shape.

This is big and exciting news, I'm finally going to have a peony grown in my own garden! I've been trying for many years, and this is the first time I've ever gotten a plant to this point. 

The yellow iris was a nice surprise, I truly had forgotten I'd planted a few special irises in the backyard. Sometimes they take a while to get going and bloom.

And one more year spent with the Pride of Madeira, the bees approve. The more bees and butterflies you see, the better your garden is doing is my rule.
